I'm in my mid-thirties now, working full time in education and working part time on a Master's degree.

After I finish that, I want to get a fellowship (even a dinky one) to get a PhD. Or work as a TA, whatever. I'm willing to live in dinky, ratty, CHEAP grad student housing while doing it. (And my husband and daughter, amazingly, are willing, too. He'd be working full-time during all this, as he has been.)

Then, once I have the PhD, I want to avoid gainful employment as long as I can, as all overeducated people should do.

After that, possibly an inheritance will come our way and I'll REALLY be able to loll about. And husband will be able to loll about, too, and maybe get that history degree he's always wanted. Oh I forgot, and we'll be full-time activists and part-time rabble rousers. I think I just repeated myself.

Travel my ass off, be a total thorn in the side of republicans, work for the betterment of all people.

Then as an old lady, I want to be a real hell raiser. Who's gonna say anything to me? I'll be OLD! At that point, I can REALLY tear it up. Sending around petitions in the nursing home, staging protests over the quality of the food.

Doesn't that sound like a great plan?
