I think I need a new desktop computer

*drat* !

I think my oldie desktop is on its last legs or maybe it is just plain out of date. Has an AMD processor and is a PII with 64 RAM and Windows 98 1st ed. on it. Basically the computer is what it is and its not really a candidate to be "upgraded". I have the original installation programs and that is how I've managed to keep it going.

I've reformatted it again and again. It keeps crashing on me constantly. I only use it for listening to the radio these days being I can only run IE 5 on it.

I don't want to spend a lot as I am on a dial-up connection. I am upset being I really like the little scanner that I bought years ago that works very well still.

Any ideas?

This computer is an IBM Aptiva that I bought on eBay for $600 (new) in 1999. It has its problems no doubt (hence all of the c: /u reformats) but I hate letting her go.

Any ideas on what I might get to replace her? Better yet, any ideas on how I might be able to keep her going awhile longer? I like my old PC and the 10 year old 17" Nokia monitor still works perfectly.
