There is a lesson to be learned here for the future if you wish to take anything away from this experience. No one is questioning your right to have and express opinions, but you also have to understand that the manner in which you express your opinions is often as important as the opinion itself. When you state your opinions in such an argumentative tone, you are probably going to cause a negative reaction that would not have happened if you had expressed your opinion in a more measured and thoughtful way. Furthermore, when several people tell you that you have perhaps phrased things insensitively, becoming more belligerent and stubborn is only going to exacerbate the problem.

No one is saying you have to be meek and mild, but there is a difference between being opinionated and being domineering. Just my two cents.
