A lady laughed at me on the phone today

I found an online place where i could order gaskets for my ancient pressure cookers, and she had to have me hold on while she went "to get the book".. It seems that one of my pressure cookers is so old, it's not even listed online..

She laughed and said. "hey, isn't it time to replace that relic"?.. "We haven't made that model since 1953"

It's an old Mirro 4 qt with a bakelite handle.

To their credit, they did have a gasket that will still fit it.. Including postage it cost me $32 for the two gaskets I needed (8 qt & the Oldie 4qt).. I would rather keep replacing gaskets than to buy new ones.. There's something comforting about using my Grandmother's pressure cookers :)
