who in the hell still writes checks to pay for groceries?!?

I nearly dropped dead from hunger this evening because I got behind someone who took FOREVER to fill out, yup, a fricken check!

This person obviously has a bank/credit union to be able to write checks. So why the eff no ATM card like the rest of civilization?!

And if you're going to continue living in the '80's, how about filling the damn thing out while your shit is being scanned...NOT after the clerk gives you the total?

Oh, and while you're at it, research the date before you arrive at the store, so you don't have to ask the clerk and slow things down even further.

But it gets better. THERE'S NO NEED TO WRITE ANYTHING ON THE MEMO LINE!!

A month from now, are you really going to look at the duplicate and think to yourself, "Hmmmmm, did I buy groceries at Safeway or did I buy shingles for the new roof?"
