Those kind of jokes are really hard to pull off. With your wife and a bunch of your friends in person, it's probably funny. A public post in text, where you have no facial expression or voice inflection to indicate that you're joking, people are going to misunderstand. Personally, I wouldn't like my husband making that kind of a joke on an internet board, outside of me and my friends, but that's just me.

It wasn't so much your joke as the reaction to those who found it offensive. I really am tired of people on this board being shouted down because they don't find something funny. That wasn't meant so much for you.
