in the name of God and Divine Right" Day!

WOO HOO!!!

Always is Thankgiving conflicting. Thankful for the land and the country, but remembering the great cost with which it was stolen from the people already here. Thankful for the bounty which I, personally, have, while remembering that as I type this there are people starving and homeless and without healthcare and with nowhere near the level of comfort under which I live.

As one who is part native american, part German; and one who's faith tradition (Congregational Church) is the tradition of the first Plymouth colonists, I never know what to think.

My people came over here and killed my people and took our land from us, which is now mine. Who's side am I on? I don't know. I am on neither side - I am on the side of justice and mercy, on the side of the poor and disenfranchised, and on the side of sane stewardship of resources and people.

So Happy Thanksgiving to those who have something about which to be happy, and about which to give thanksgiving. To those who don't, please know that we contonue to fight to help bring lives of happiness and lives which have something about which to be thankful.
