My ancestors were some of those damn Puritans who came over here, stole land, burned witches and generally wreaked havoc.

My great-great granddaddy fought for the Union in the Civil War, helping to free the slaves - then he went west and slaughtered native americans. :wtf: The bitter irony probably never occurred to him but it weighs on me.

So I try not to think a whole lot about the history of the holiday because I like the idea behind it - taking a day to give thanks for what I have. Regardless of the origins, that's a pretty good thing to do.

So, on behalf of my ancestors, I offer my apologies to your ancestors and I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. :hi:
