Nobody commented upon his economic status

That's right, they didn't comment on his economic status. Are you suggesting that people couldn't guess he was working class just by looking at him? It's obvious. The reason he's a DU mascot is that he allows Democrats the guilty pleasure of class snobbery.

This is not the way we win back the working class. They know when they are being ridiculed.
