34C here. I don't think I've left the house without one since I was 13 years old -- and I don't think I would unless the house was on fire.
It's a lot more uncomfortable, even painful, to go without than it is to wear one. And I don't mind underwires a bit (except when the bra's starting to wear out and the wire pokes through. That's bad), almost all of mine are.
