14. In trying to tell Tyne Daly how great she is, I accidently insulted her
I began adoration of Tyne Daly when i was about ten years old and she appeared as a blind woman on a episode of the Rookies in 1972.

She also appeared on other TV shows, and in an amazing TV movie with Frederic Forrest called "Larry"

After that, she kicked ass in Clint Eastwood's the Enforcer - I'll never forget the classic line "You laugh at me you bastard and I'll shoot you where you stand". You wouldn't think it to view her character actress appearance now - but she actually had a very flirty, sexy vibe going on with Clint in that movie.

So I just tried to see everything Tyne was in, two weeks after my son was born I was in the front row of "Gypsie" on Broadway.

Finally, I saw her in an off off Broadway show a few years ago, and I really wanted to tell her how much her work had meant to me and inspired me over the years.

Nervously I waited in line to see her after the performance with othe well wishers. When I finally got up to her, I was soooooo nervous I stammered, and said, I've seen everything you've done, even "Angel Unchained"

My intention was to point out that I admired her so much I had actually seen her in everything. But bringing up that 60's B Biker movie didn't sit too well with Ms. Daly, she got a really disgusted look on her face, made a gesture like she was spitting on her fingers and turned away.

Well, as you can imagine, I just wanted to the floor to open up and swallow me. Here was my big chance to tell my hero how great she was - and i instead insulted her.

Well - I'm still her biggest fan, and hopefully some day will get another shot at this.
