41. There weren't a shitload of two-loss teams that year.
My scenario, albeit far-fetched, gets TCU into the big money (BCS) this year if they remain unbeaten. Losses are counted as one point each in the BCS formula, so TCU is automatically two points better than everybody but Oklahoma. They'd be in the top six or so in the polls in this scenario, too. And the computers, while not being kind to TCU, wouldn't kill them, either. The only thing holding them back is their SOS. I think they make the top six of the BCS given my conditions, guaranteeing them a spot. Hell, they're ninth right now.

Now, keep in mind that my scenario is very unlikely. But if they remain unbeaten, I think they have a shot anyway.
