1. I'm just trying to understand what the recent shake-ups with
SuSe and RedHat mean to Linux and Microsoft. Some time ago, I read about a politically powerful figure - I think he was a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff - being appointed to RedHat's board of directors. It may be innocent, but I smelled corporate takeover.

And does Novell really intend to throw its weight behind Linux, or is something else going on? I'm not using Linux yet, but I had my sites set on RedHat and/or SuSe.

I can't wait until RedFlag Linux is available! I suspect that product will give Microsoft its stiffest competition yet.
