iPod doesn't store the individual songs (sound files) in actual discreet files. On the Mac, there are several free- and shareware utilities that allow you to move songs (or sound files) from the iPod to the computer.

You install this utility on your PC and it lets you look at the iPod as a remote drive and you can see the sound files within a directory structure. Then you can just drag and drop the file you need from the iPod "drive" to the PC's hard drive.

I'm searching for a Windows version of one of these utilities for you. My iPod references predate the Windows version.
