on paper it looks as if it was written by a spider that had crawled out of an ink pot. In practice the notes fall under the fingers quite nicely. I even learned the difficult "trio" section (many people skip that)!

In my opinion The Entertainer is significantly harder. For one thing you have that octave-plus-a-major-third reach in the right hand - that's a very big stretch. I think these ragtime players of the late 19th century must have had huge hands. Secondly, it's in G major (one sharp) whilst the Maple Leaf Rag is in A flat (four flats). Strangely enough the extra black notes actually make it easier to play!
