25. Hey MissHoneychurch! I'm actually rereading a favorite book of mine...
...which always inspires me. It's called "Resistance of the Heart - Intermarriage and the Rosenstrasse Protest in Nazi Germany"..

Its a true and often overlooked story of intermarriage in Berlin between Germans and Jews. In 1943, the Nazis tried to send all Jews to concentrations camps, specifically aiming on those who were intermarried to Germans. It created wild protests, largely unknown by many people, which resulted in the Nazis releasing the Jews back to their German spouses. What's most interesting about it, is that the majority of the protest were from female Germans. They protested in the streets, and created a real problem for the Nazi leadership, since it wouldn't seem appropriate for them to shoot down their own women. The Nazi's capitulated, and the women won.

In a distant way, it makes me think of what a Cindy Sheehan is doing. And how it is more effective when women lead the front. It really creates a conundrum for the ruling elites.
