without 12- and 13-year friends who smoked pot and shoplifted (I did neither at time, but my friends did).

I would have wanted a "foxy" shirt at that age, and might have stashed it in my locker (as I did with jeans, which I wasn't allowed to wear to school)

It's easy to condemn children - 8-9-10 year olds who wear "sexy" clothes. But middle school -- the 12-13-14 years-- are tough. the girls that age are just exploring their sexuality, some with the bodies but all without the maturity to do so.
