37. it wasn't intentional, but i got out of one by crying
i was stopped behind a school bus at a red light and the bus driver thought it would be a brilliant idea to back up. traffic was stacked up behind me and all i could do was blow my horn and hope for as little damage as possible.

he crunched the front end of my car, we pull into a parking lot and call the police. when the officer asked for my license and insurance, he saw that my insurance card had expired and told me he was going to write me a ticket. now, i was only 19 or 20 and had just had the front end of my car crunched by some moron, so i burst into tears.

the officer got really freaked out by that and told me to just bring a copy of a current insurance card to the station by the end of the next day.

luckily, the damage to my car was only cosmetic and neither my bf or i were hurt. that is one of the many reasons i love volvos. had we been in his geo storm, i have a feeling the damage would have been much, much worse.
