14. In 1990 I bought a 1980 Datsun Longbed pickup with 170K on it.

Cost me $300. It finally fell apart with 375K miles on it. I used it to deliver newspapers on a rural route-100 miles every day on third world grade back roads. I probably spent about $600 on repairs and about $700 in tires in that time. Out on the highway it got 34mpg on a 1200 mile one way trip with about 600 pounds of cargo in the back.
