39. Well, I remember one of my most amusing costumes...

A few years ago, the M Museum was having this huge Halloween bash (their first) and had our company sponsor their event.I was asked to go and judge costumes. So, I'd been working non-stop and was just exhausted. It was cold outside. I had no idea what I was going to wear, and I had to leave in five minutes.

So, I went and got myself a costume from Fiddler on the Roof. It was a huge bulky skirt, an apron, a big poofy peasants blouse, a shawl and a headscarf. Something like this:
only I'm young and the colours were nicer.

Every other girl at this event (VERY YOUNG) went the "traditional" Halloween way: Cat ears, corset and underwear, mouse ears and underwear, underwear and underwear, basically no one was dressed. They all stared at me like I was insane, in my big bulky outfit. Joke was on them, because I wasn't freezing my cha-chas off :P I stood out like a sore thumb, not that I cared. I never went in for that whole wear-your-undies-in-public thing. My friend still gets the giggles when she pictures me in this sea of sex dressed like a turn of the century Jewish Russian pesant.

The cab driver that took me home was from eastern europe. He loved my outfit, and complimented me repeatedly on it, and told me I was so very sensible to not parade around naked. He said every year he ends up giving free rides to freezing cold young girls who're out in their gotchies. He didn't mean it in a creepy way, he meant it in a "wow I feel so bad for them being so cold" but he also would comment on the foolishness of it.

I just picked something easy to put on that didn't need alteration, was warm, and went over my work clothes so I would have to carry them around all night.
Not a very exciting costume or story. If you could have seen this party with me in that outfit though, you'd see the funny in it.
