I could never pedal them anywhere either, too damn heavy for pedaling anyway. I think that was just a way to get around regulations in some countries and states.

Did you have the Ciao or the Bravo?

I picked up a sweatshirt on my last trip to the UK that has the Vespa logo on the front and in HUGE letters on the back; "It's Not A Damn Moped".

Both Mopeds and Scoots are making a really big comeback lately. It's as much style thing as it is cheap transportation. But with gas getting up to $2.50 plus, I might be commuting more on the scooter than my car in the near future.

The two older Vespa 2 strokes actually do get over 100 mpg.

The Pep Boy auto stores are even selling electric and gas powereed scooters now.
