27. What would you know about tort law?
There is a reason that the gun manufacturers are ultimately prevailing everywhere: the common law is indisputably on their side. The problem is that anti-gun special interest groups are trying to bankrupt the firearms industry merely through the process of litigation. The Brady Bunch doesn't even need to win to achieve their goals. The firearms industry is rather small and has modest resources. HR1034/S659 only protects the firearms industry from frivolous lawsuits, not from claims of actual negligence or from traditional product liability claims (e.g., I pulled the trigger on my gun and it blew up.)
