Just listened to Hillary Clinton on the Newshour with Jim Lehrer on PBS, Gwen Iffil was interviewing her.

Hillary talked about her meeting with Iraqi officials.

The Iraqi officials told her that when the US troops come in to "surge" in Baghdad,
ie the proposed build-up by Bush, then the Iraqi officials will send out death
squads to kill off the baddies.

They also told her that they plan to keep the "militias" and use them as an arm
of the Iraqi government.

I do not think that we should be supporting this, she also said that SHE thought
it was a good idea not to cut funding for the US troops but to cut money
to the Iraqi government and to the Iraqi army.
