Why is Kucinich ahead in the fund drive?

The truth is that most people would like to vote for him. Many here at DU consider him to be good on many fronts. But for whatever reason people do not want to vote for him to make him the candidate of choice.

He is the only candidate that stands by his principles. He does not bend because it is politically convenient. He does not make diplomatic statements to pander to both sides. He is true progressive.

But we have reasons to not vote for him like: He is too short to a president. He is too left wing, we need someone more centrist. He is a vegan, what message is that sending to the world that imports meat from the USA. Really, these are all republican talking points. The man the republicans fear the most is Kucinich.

It is time to vote in the irregular. After George Bush do you not think it is time to vote for someone like Kucinich. We need change in the White House. I really do not believe any of the other candidates have the guts to make that happen.
