What about Edwards Running for the NC Senate seat Against Dole?

If after Feb 5th, things start to really shape out and Edwards cannot win the nomination, what about him running for the Senate seat of Elizabeth Dole? I think we could use him in government somewhere, and as a Senator again he would serve well. If he doesnt beat the incumbent Dole, and a dem gets the White house, I think he still should be a top candidate for a role somewhere in the administration.
