Bayou City has a new Obama campaign office, and the Houston branch of FOX has a video report here. Not big news.

But if you watch the video, you might notice something a bit... uh... weird:

Yes, it seems that they have a Cuban flag - with a superimposed portrait of Che Guevara - on the wall. Now, I appreciate that some progressives admire Che. But when you've got TV cameras rolling, is it really the best idea to be identifying yourself with a man who most of the country (including a lot of Dems) consider to have been a bloody murderer?

It suggests to me that some of these people are far from ready for the primetime. McCain will eat amateurs like these for breakfast. It also kinda makes me wonder what sort of "new support" is being brought into the party. I think Dems can live quite happily without the Viva Fidel contingent.

----------

Edited to add: Some people downthread have claimed this is not an Obama office, despite the fact that the video shows Obama volunteers working in there, wearing Obama buttons, and with an Obama poster on the wall (next to the flag - watch the video). Their argument is that because there are no paid staff there, the fact that the Obama campaign now has control of, and use of, the premises does not make it an Obama HQ.

I'll leave you to decide for yourselves the merits of that argument.
