The question isnt whether there are those who dont like Bush there , the question is why we cant easily get the votes to win each and every single election there.

Accoriding to census 2000 (which undercounted minoritys by at least -2%), 48% of Texans were minoritys and we are already halfway into the next decade. Whites are below 50%.


I think we Democrats should make a deal with Nader that if we get him the signatures to be on the ballot in Texas in 2008 and if he spends all his time campaigning there then we will watch closly and learn when he gets record votes there.If we had nominated Nader for our Democratic nomination then frankly Texas would be too close to call.


I think the main story is how few Democratic votes we end up with in Texas when it need not be that way. I always get shocked when people talk about how genuine progressives like Wellstone , Feingold , and DeFazio cant win in most places when if you do the math , between their 3 state/districts Bush actualy took a higher percentage of the vote than Gore.
