She was very commanding, very compelling. Yes, it could indeed be viewed as the speech of her life.

And I knew this would happen - media people gushed all over it.

(For the record:)

The snark and heavy criticism she's taken up til now - all but forgotten. They can't say enough nice things about her. Even that little snot-nose Amy-Somebody on CNN. Even she had glowing reviews. All of a sudden, they've fallen in love. St. Hillary. You know what? I'm okay with that. I'm glad they're making like they feel positively toward her. They've otherwise been quite brutal.

The late great Tom Snyder once said "you're only as good as your last show."

Which means - the last views of her will be an absolute love-fest.

What the hell? She deserves it. I thought it was pretty damned magnificent. And she becomes the elder stateswoman (and not even all that "elder," either). She becomes the Grande Dame of the Democratic Party. Well deserved, I think. She fought like hell, and even the bad guys have to give her that (and they HAVE). I thought she did great. And she made such a good point - no longer, never ever again, will it be unthinkable that a woman or an African-American to run for President, and very likely to win. It's no longer unthinkable. No longer unimaginable. No longer far-fetched. No longer a wild leap of the imagination. It's HAPPENED. It very nearly happened for her. It has happened for him. We should all be happy about this. Another barrier has been broken down. In two ways.

And guess what? She looked and sounded VERY PRESIDENTIAL. And it had to be breaking her heart. But what a speech - what a performance! I couldn't have gone out there and handed off to my opponent like that, after such a struggle. I don't know that I wouldn't have been a soppy pile of humiliation. That had to be DAMNED HARD to do - with all the cameras and mikes and millions of pairs of eyes looking at you and judging you during such a dramatic - and disappointing moment in your life.

This Obama supporter would like to give Hillary Clinton credit for going out with class. She made me proud.
