Cons:
- Rhode Island is solidly blue already.
Pros:
- Been to Iraq 11 times. Voted against the IWR.
- 1971 West Point grad. Commanded the 82nd Airborne.
- Still drives a 1991 Ford Escort. (Don't belittle this... it says a lot about the guy).
- Voted against FISA... providing Obama some cover there.
I think Americans would very easily be able to picture this man as President, if the situation arose.
I think it would be an inspiring (and inspired) choice.
He has solid lefty creds... and his personal history makes it VERY hard for the right to find something to attack him on.
I don't know how his vetting is going... but I REALLY like what I see.
