What the hell, Obama.

I'm not gay, and some may even say I am utterly clueless when it comes to cultural political correctness, but what the hell is up with this Rick Warren nut? I just watched some stuff on him and read some more about him, and this due is pretty much just a typical wingnut religiofacist. Why put Rev. Lowery on the back end, a CIVIL RIGHTS HERO, and let this wingnut do the invocation? Lowry marched with KING and Warren did what, wrote the Purpose Driven Life? This is a historical inauguration, ok, and I wanted to enjoy it with all of the fervor and ferocity possible, but now I feel a little something has been taken away. There is something diminished, even if just marginally diminished, about it all now. I can't feel good about it knowing that thousands of GLBT folks donated money, worked hard for Obama, and then voted for him, when people like wingnut Warren did the same thing for McCain, working against Obama and us day and night. These were the wingnut spreading rumors about Michelle, Obama, his mother, grandparents, his Kenyan family (Oh, and I didn't forget about the wingnuts exposing his aunt who is here seeking asylum or the fact that Hannity and the rest of the wingnuts harassed Obama's brother in Kenya). These people will only feel validated with Warren giving the invocation. These people don't do post-partisan. They will not take this as a friendly, post partisan gesture. They will consider it validation. They are wingnuts. It's their religion. It's their ideology. You can't tell these people they are wrong. Rev. Lowry is someone everyone could have agreed upon for the invocation. You don't showcase a person like Warren at the inauguration of the first black president. Hell no! This is the most historical inauguration in our nation's history, IMO. You don't intentionally stain it with a jerk like Warren.

Sigh.
