Reply #33: he loses two parts of the right [View All]

first the far right religious extremists to whom he was initially pandering - because he isn't willing to go "all the way" with this (reminiscent of those who blamed poppy for not going all the way to Bagdhad). But really - this is a rather small sliver of the right - not enough to cost Jeb! too much. However...

he also loses part of the moderate right - who have watched him appoint extremists into govt (remember the wacko he brought in to "clean up" the dept of familiy services? The guy who was run out for corruption?) - and now have seen how pandering he is... in frightening ways (there are a lot of moderate repub retirees in Florida who may not relish the image of their own life being the "next cause" of the religious extremists. Bigger and more important group to lose, imo.
