horribly wrong.

Because, when you think about it, you can substitute "over here" with "rich people" and "over there" with "poor people".

So when they repeat that slogan they might as well be saying: "why should we risk rich people over here when we can send poor people over there to take the hit?"

Of course, the other slightly large problem with it is that it is not in fact making the rich people over here any safer. In reality everyone loses except Halliburton, oil execs and the politicians that they have bought.
