23. How about Gerald Ford?
He has experience standing in for corrupt vice-presidents not to mention issuing those all important presidential pardons if necessary.

He's one of the few Republicans untouched by the Abramoff scandal.

He's one of the few Republicans who's sort of a loveable father (grandfather) figure. (There is Bob Dole who could be someone's crochety old grandpa but sadly Liddy seems to have--er received some favors--from Abramoff)

It'd be cool to have Betty back in the White House--I always liked her and she did good work on drug abuse.

Of course old Jerry's health is none too good but then neither is Cheney's. He'd present a kinder gentler face for the Republican Party and would pose no challenge to those running in 2008.

What do you think.
