7. Why is there less reason to support Senator Kerry?
1) Murtha was primarily attacked last year. The Republicans see that other Democrats are better targets.
2) Reid has played a pretty safe game and has not been attacked that much this year. (He was at the end of last year.)

On the other hand, Kerry was ridiculed by the Republicans and their corporate press for the Alito filibuster. As the NYT noted after it was defeated, this was winnable if the party leadership would have fought it and it was important. (That the author of this, 5 days before wrote a hit piece on Kerry is beyond pathetic. There was NO DNC effort to back Kerry.

The issues on Alito - unitary President and the balance of power between the 3 branches of government have as much to do with the Constitution as the non-winnable filibuster.

If the favortism is ok with you fine, but those of us who feel that Kerry has been treated unfairly by the party have the write to speak out and give money to KAP rather than the DNC.
