13. I've been making a similar argument...
on another discusion board here:
http://www.upsizethis.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=28461&hl=

Succinctly:
1) Intelligence has known since late July about this plan to smuggle explosives on airplanes.
2) It has already been established that liquid explosives in known and unknown configurations are capable of blowing up a plane.
3) Despite knowing that there was a plot and despite knowing that liquids could be the ultimate transportation of explosives, air travellers have been permitted to carry on liquids for the past few weeks with impunity.
4) If knowing there was a bombing plot and if knowing that liquids might be the conveyence, why the red alert and precautions taken AFTER the plot had been publicized.
5) And why allow dumping and mixing of unknown substances in large vats in crowded airports? From my point of view, public dumping and mixing of unknown chemicals would be a magnet for a terrorist hit.
6) What is the point of having an alert system if we are all in the dark until after the danger has passed?
