Iran could have taken advantage and openly supported Shites in southern Iraq, Turkey could have gone after the Kurdish north, and Israel could have found it got more than it bargained for in attacking Lebanon ... This could have turned into the biggest clusterfuck in the Middle East since the Mongol hordes swept across Asia. All things considered...
