It appeals to the voter who votes according to what the corporate-consolidated media is selling as "cool" (such as Bu$h over Gore, over Kerry) and who falls for slogans versus competence. Obama was bored after one year in the Senate. His is a "rock star"--he'll hire the expertise, just like he hired the Harvard election expert to challenge the nomination papers of all of his opponents when he first ran for public office. He ran without opposition! That's change he could take to the bank!

Of course, the voters of Mass. weren't going to be burned twice (Patrick is a nice man but his experience as a deputy attorney in the Clinton Admin wasn't enough to enable him to be effective as a governor, and heck, "change" can be whatever you want it to be!) and they gave Hillary a big victory in spite of Kennedy and Kerry. The college students of Boston showed they have critical thinking ability and voted for Hillary.

Obama claims that his living in Indonesia for four years as a child gives him unique qualifications to be President. In his book he said he was fluent in Indonesian after 6 months although his teachers revealed that he didn't have much comprehension of it during his stay there.
