There came a point where it made no more sense for Hillary to run. There came another point where it would be damaging to her opponent's general run. There came another point where it would be damaging to the party. And finally, there came a point where she was damaging herself and making what she was attempting impossible by the way she was attempting it.

At all these points it became a valid thing to question her motives. When something no longer makes sense with the standard explanation, start looking for others. Test the explanations. You may change your mind about what you should do about the situation.

A lot of people pointed out that Hillary seemed to be angling for 2012 rather than trying to win this election. I'd take it a step further: why would someone strip themselves of so much dignity in pursuit of something? Something that's not even guaranteed four years from now? Honestly, I think it's because someone feels that they've lost even greater dignity than they are giving up now, and will make up for it with their efforts. Yes, I am talking about Bill's affair with Monica, which was devastatingly embarassing for Hillary. I think she wanted something to make up for the humiliation she endured, as well as a chance to outdo her husband who wronged her. And I'd say: good for her. There's nothing wrong with it, so long as it's not expressed destructively. But it was expressed destructively, and those who see that have seen it already. We should understand what drives people to destruction if we are to stop it when it becomes apparent.

In a very short period I will be barraged with accusations of sexism. I don't care, because I know this isn't a sexist argument. I could see a man in this position being way worse. If you can't, that's your problem. I am through arguing with people who feel they can read my mind, and if what you imagine my thoughts to be are causing you anguish, I can do little to stop the full brunt of the inclinations of your own mind for making this false accusation. For that, I will not be sparing you the torment you bring upon yourself by stepping in to assuage it, not when I would probably face further attacks for my efforts.
