WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Kerry-Edwards campaign announced today that it will place a $45 million advertising buy in battleground states between now and Election Day. The buy includes a significant contingency fund for the campaign to use strategically in additional advertising in the final 8 weeks of the campaign.

Rolled out in the weeks after Labor Day, the new ads will frame the fundamental choice that voters face in this election: an administration that has pursued policies that benefit the few and 'miscalculated' the situation in Iraq, or the Kerry-Edwards plan that understands a stronger America begins at home with specific plans to create jobs, strengthen the economy and help middle-class families get ahead.

"John Kerry and John Edwards know that a stronger America begins at home," said Kerry-Edwards campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill. "Now that we are entering the Fall election period, these ads will be part of our overall strategy to communicate their positive vision and determination to change the failed policies of the Bush Administration and lead America in a new direction."

The buy includes general market ads as well as spending targeted for African-American and Hispanic media. Ads will run in 20 battleground states including Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin and West Virginia and on national cable.
