10. I sort of agree with Bodnar, but I think that they should both get $5

because people shouldn't be paid according to age, gender, or anything but the work they do. I do believe that an allowance does help children understand the value of a dollar and begin to learn about savings and delaying gratification, which is difficult for very young children (and Republicans who never learned to think past next week). I got a dollar a week in the early 70's, but it was bumped up to $5 by the time I was a teen (80s) to keep pace with inflation - plus I was doing loads of extra work around the house and yard by then.
