Freep Spin on Fort Hood Shooting: "Obama's Frightening Insensitivity"
Advertisements [?]
I watched Obama's speech when he talked about the horrific events at Fort Hood:

"These are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk and at times give their lives to the rest of us on a daily basis," the president continued. "It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil."

Obama's remarks came at the conclusion of the Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Interior Department and the White House. He told his listeners – leaders from many of the 564 federally recognized American Indian tribes – that he had discarded his prepared comments in light of the breaking news.

Not all the details were in yet (as of this writing, they still aren't) and as I watched Obama's speech, I could tell he was troubled and was eloquent in trying to honor those who died, were hurt and everyone else connected with the incident.

So what do we find linked on the Drudge Report this morning? What will the Freeper Echo Chamber say today about Obama's reaction? Here's a sample:

A bad week for Democrats compounded by an awful moment for Barack Obama.
By ROBERT A. GEORGE

After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance.

(snip)

At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

Anyone at home aware of the major news story of the previous hours had to have been stunned. An incident like this requires a scrapping of the early light banter. The president should apologize for the tone of his remarks, explain what has happened, express sympathy for those slain and appeal for calm and patience until all the facts are in. That's the least that should occur.

(snip)

All the president's men (and women) fell down on the job Thursday. And Democrats across the country have real reason to panic.

Obviously, if you hate Obama, you would come up with this kind of careless conjecture to make yourself "feel better".

What's next? All Muslims are evil, so we need to go help the people of Afghanistan?
