I think your frustration about "intelligent people" is a bit misplaced. You wrote:

Granted, you did write that Kerry's filing was not a complete entry into the recount effort, but I think it is perfectly understandable why people might have been confused, especially those readers with little or no knowledge of the legal profession. Judging by the amount of response that your original post generated, your story was misinterpreted by quite a few folks. I think your latest post clarifying the issue is appropriate and timely. It might prevent more than one person from appearing foolish and misinformed at gatherings of all sorts over this holiday season. Thanks Will!
