Here's another item dated 1/1/04. They've contracted with Homeland Security. The link is http://www.expansionmanagement.com/smo/articleviewer/newsdatabase_print.asp?pcmd=articleprint&articleid=15969
Use "find" to locate the small portion about DataMaxx.

"... Recently, Datamaxx begun the nation’s first production installation of a combined satellite/terrestrial data communications system developed exclusively by the company and Wireless Matrix Corp. for the public safety marketplace.

The installation for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety in Oklahoma City, made possible by a Federal Motor Safety Administration Research & Development Grant, is the direct result of a 10-state proof-of-concept that was completed two years ago.

“These installations represent the first step in the realization of a nationwide public safety wireless communication system that provides ubiquitous coverage using multiple wireless carriers,” said Kay Stephenson, president and CEO of Datamaxx. “System users will be able to drive, not only across Oklahoma, but from Seattle, Wash., to Key West, Fla., and be in constant communication with their base of operations and other system users.”

The company has also contracted with the Department of Homeland Security to deal with national security issues."
