1. electronic voting
Wherever electronic voting machines (DREs) manufactured by the
big three (Diebold, ES&S, and Sequoia) are used, the
elections are skewed toward Repubs, whether or not one
candidate or another wins. This has been absolutely clear and
transparent since 02. MN needs to have audits done on its
optical scanners. Mondale's loss in 02 was due to the skewing
occasioned by ES&S scanners, just as Max Cleland's loss
came from the Diebold touchscreens in GA. Until this issue
becomes the PARAMOUNT issue for Democrats and for all of any
party who want to regain democracy in the US, the elections
will continue to show skewed results and the Repubs will
continue to increase their majority in Congress and throughout
the country. Even here in KS, which uses ES&S scanners
primarily and Diebold touchscreens in Johnson County, the
largest), the elections would be much closer and eventually
Democrats would have an equal playing field if the results
were audited.
