Hanging all your hopes on one game a season is foolish, given that Boise has shown a tendency to lose to other, lesser opponents.

OK State did the same thing, hung all their hopes on walloping Sooner, hoping people would forget they lost to Iowa State. Thankfully, the voters remembered.

Had Bama lost to Vanderbilt (also finished 6-6), the Crimson Tide wouldn't be in the title game, either.
