In the new spirit of things 'Watermelons'
Advertisements [?]
Cousin Junior set up huge mounds of watermelons in front of his home on Route Seventeen South. His hand written sign in crude lettering shouted out 'MELONS 25 CENT'. Now and then I would stop by, shoot the breeze and share a beer or two with Cousin Junior. He sold a lot of melons out there on Route Seventeen.

Now this story is not exactly about watermelons, no not exactly. Rather it is about an event at the Government Dock where I was waiting to launch my crab boat 'The Honky Dory'.

There was a week end warrior's boat blocking the boat ramp. The guys were having a hard time getting their boat onto the trailer. I went over to give them a hand. Standing in the boat waiting were two almost naked girls eating watermelon. I must admit I might have been gawking more than a little bit as there was a whole lot to be gawked at.

One of the almost naked girls held out a big juicy piece of watermelon dripping sweetness. "Here want some?" she says grinning wide. The other girl observed "It is not a piece of watermelon he wants."
