Anyone here interested in pH issues?? [View All]

I think I remember telling about a friend who went on The Body Ecology diet and was able to hold back looming Type 2 diabetes (well it started as gestational diabetes). After that I read that taking probiotics has been shown in studies to reduce gestational diabetes. But an acid pH just hits whatever your weakest spot is, not just blood sugars. Anyway, there are tons of free resources on the web about pH in the body. I have some strips around that can test water in the swimming pool and checked urine and saliva and found out that like most people I am acidic. I haven't been testing it regularly, though, and the test strips aren't that accurate for the body.

Anyway, I was motivated to buy some different test strips, and I am going to start regularly checking my pH, and trying to keep it balanced and see what happens. Anyone want to join? I don't have that many health issues, but do have things like weak teeth enamel, and a recurring herpes thing, some skin stuff going on--plus my tennis shoes don't smell great. But mostly I am convinced that body pH is hugely important and virtually ignored by most mainstream practitioners. About all I have done so far about this is drink freshly squeezed vegetable juices and eat sauerkraut. Lemon water that I make myself first thing in the morning should help. I wouldn't want to get too alkaline though, so I am going to test urine and saliva a couple of times a day, once my strips come.
