OMFG!!!!! :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

That sick, twisted, little, blue-blazer-fascist has the audacity to compare supporting the Yankees to supporting the troops?!?!? They don't need someone at home CHEERING THEM ON!!! They need people calling their representatives, hounding their officials, making sure that they are given the equipment, body armor, adequate troop numbers, or trying to bring them HOME!!!!!! That's Supporting the Troops!!!

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but a yellow ribbon sticker on your car doesn't help. Sitting at home and shutting up, ignoring the lies, ignoring torture, ignoring sweetheart contracts to corporate friends, and just "not complaining" isn't helping any of our troops. Supporting our Troops is protesting in the street, trying to get the troops home safe and sound, calling your representatives, essentially what DU has been doing since it's beginning.

Don't be afraid to call it a quagmire, or even to call it civil war. What we do isn't hurting the troops at all. The average Iraqi insurgent doesn't need to see a public opinion poll from USA today to keep him motivated. All they need to do is LOOK IN THE STREET !!!! See the occupying force, look at the bodies in the morgue, see the blood-stains in the street, or look at the destruction of his beloved home. Compared to that, is what Randi Rhodes says on Air America important? These people don't even have basic utilities at all times, they can't get LOCAL stations, much less broadcasts from the US.

As long as the sheeple keep equating supporting the troops with supporting sports teams or Nascar, they'll be helping only as much as they help the teams. Just ask ARod, or Derek Jeter how much it supports them, when "Stephen Noname" watches a game and drinks a beer and cheers from his couch. Better yet, ask a soldier returning from the sandbox how much "Sally down the street" putting a yellow ribbon on her car helped him/her in Iraq.

Screw it, Start the Draft! When all these young repukes are sent to war, and realize it's bullshit. When they realize that what someone at home says has no effect on whether you're taking shrapnel in your ass, maybe then their eyes will open. I know of no other way to break their brainwashing, so maybe watching their friends die will finally make them question the "leadership" of this country. Maybe losing a leg, arm, sight, or basic motor functioning, and then realize how badly Chimpy screwed over the veterans will wake them up.

Until that happens, I've given up on them. They're dead to me.

Support the Draft.
