26. I Did Feel A Lot More Vibe From Those Threads Of People Ultimately
fighting towards the same goal, in spite of disagreement. There was still some animosity to a degree in some that I read, but overall there seemed to be far more of a spirit of cooperation and sense of purpose than I see currently. But you must also take into consideration how many less posters there were back then. As this community grows, so does the capability for wider opinions and different personalities.

But I will agree that my browsing so far has made a good impression on me of the state of things back then. It seems that when someone posted a thread, they did so with the best intentions of providing useful information.

Today, there is still TONS of threads that offer incredibly valuable information and that's what keeps DU the most informative resource on the web in my opinion. The biggest difference seems to be that you have to peel through a lot more fluff in order to find them.

I'm not done yet though. I'm going to take some time tomorrow as well and browse some more. But for now I was fascinated at how much useful stuff I came across, that even today is still useful.

God Bless DU.
