22. Baker will never be VP, here is why...
Baker will never allow himself to be put under oath and answer questions about his past exploits. Baker has been the 'bagman' and inside advisor to so much wrongdoing for so long that he could never agree to that. Besides, Baker's real value is to work behind the scenes, and he has been able to wield incredible power and profit handsomely behind the figurehead's appearance of power.

If this move takes place, a replacement for Cheney, the selection will attempt to influence future events and promote the individuals who will hold the reins of power who can continue to help them keep a lid on past wrongdoing.

So in this environment, McCain is the person to exploit for that purpose. He holds a positive view by the populace, he has demonstrated over the last 12 mos that he will ignore truth and values for the greater goal of becoming the next President. There is also some support for the proposition that these people have something incriminating on McCAin that will allow them to control his every move.

Rest assured no one with honesty and integrity will inhabit the office of VP as long as Bush, or one of his followers, is still President. It will take a new DEM President in 2008 to change that.
